Tree Removal
Unfortunately sometimes trees need to be removed completely for various reasons. With either a straight fell if there’s enough room or dismantled by a climber if in a tight spot, using all the up to date techniques with lowering and safety equipment. On larger trees we sometimes need to use MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) or even cranes to get the job done safely and efficiently.
Crown reductions
When a tree gets too big for its environment we can reduce the canopy up to 30% of its original size without harming the tree, removing branches back to growth points leaving wounds small enough to heal quickly. All of our reductions are carried out to the British Standards BS3998 of Tree Work.
Crown Thinning
To reduce the wind sail in trees, a good practice is to thin out the canopy to let the wind blow through with ease, reducing the risk of branch failures and also letting more sunlight through the tree.
Crown Lifting
To remove the lower branches of the canopy to crown raise the tree. Usually done to trees over roads to stop traffic hitting the branches, or even on smaller trees in gardens so you can get your lawn mower around easier.
Fruit Tree Pruning
To reduce a fruit tree size and thinning out it’s canopy so you still get a nice crop of juicy fruit the following year.
Deadwooding
To remove any major deadwood within the tree for obvious safety reasons!
Pollarding
Is an old school method of Crown reductions still used in some cases today. We significantly reduce a tree’s canopy size removing all secondary branches leaving the framework of a smaller tree. This practice is usually only now used on trees in urban areas or on dying trees to be left for wildlife habitat.
Stump grinding
Once a tree has been removed you might want the stump also gone completely, to turf over the area, it’s in the way of your new driveway or just to reduce the risk of a trip hazard. Any tree and and size stump we can grind out with our machines.
Hedge Maintenance
Some customers like to have the hedges trimmed once or twice a year to keep their garden looking neat ‘n tidy. Sometimes hedges grow out of size for its place and need a heavier hand to them and have their heights reduced. Or we can even just to remove the hedge completely.
Site clearance
This is to fell/dismantle any tree, hedge, shrub that is on a site. Stumps usually go on this spec too. Usually done to give way for builders.
